The Study of Rocks
By Darlene Kong
What is geology?Geology is the study of the Earth, the materials of which it is made of, the structure of those materials, and the processes acting upon them. It includes the study of organisms that have inhabited on this planet. And the feature that could represent our history. An important part of geology is the study of how Earth’s materials, structures, processes and organisms have changed over time. ignored to have a record of all the findings, geological information are kept by collection data, drawing maps, graphs and diagrams. People who study geology from all over the globe share their findings by writing reports with statistics and images. They might even showcase their notes from which they gained from field works, alone with some hand sketches with labels and photos. All geologists want to have precise and correct information, hence they share their studies with others to discuss and confirm it.

what does geologists do?Geologists work to understand the history of our planet. The better they can understand Earth’s history the better they can foresee how events and processes of the past might influence the one that might occur in the future. Here are some examples: Geologists study earth' s processes such as landslides, earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions that can be hazardous to human beings and our community. They figure out ways to prevent and better foresee these natural disasters. Geologists also study to find out where and what could be a better future for people, they are the researchers who finds out exactly where water, oil, energy and minerals come from and they also try to fins more. They put effort into how humans, animals, plants and other feature of Earth came into being, and most importantly, they know how the Earth itself had worked out over this long period of time since it first existed.
